THE BRYAN NEBULA

Released April 2020

“The Bryan Nebula” is an homage to early Electronic & “Post-Punk” music that deeply influenced Gehring. These include; Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire, Chrome, Fad Gadget, CAN, John Zorn, New Order, and the experimental sounds of “No Wave”. “The Bryan Nebula” also beautifully fuses electronic arrangements with field/environmental recording making for an immersive soundscape throughout this recording.

TENTING TONIGHT

Released March 2020

“A Soundscape is a sound(s) that arise from an immersive environment-representing sonic textures that evoke a sense of ‘continuum of spatial imagery and emotion’; tranquil, hypnotic, and contemplative with a heightened sense of floating or flying.” (R. Murray Schafer).

“Tenting Tonight” seeks to capture just that in song and sound–an immersive soundscape exploring the organic relationships between ‘signal to noise’, ‘point and counterpoint’, ‘dark and light’, and times of ‘unrest’ & moments of ‘peace’ as they pertain to our shared American experiences.

THE VERNA SUITE

Released April 2019

Brand new release “The Verna Suite”. This solo recording marks a departure from previous releases of mine. However, it represents a part of me that I don’t often express. Just myself, the guitar, and the influence of my aunt Verna Jane Vaughn. The suites are akin to soundscapes which invoke a sense of calmness and reflection.

Very special thanks goes out to Chuck Zwicky for his (always) brilliant mixing & mastering and to Jeff Yas for his great design, insight, and intuition.
